In the words of Michael Buble...

It's a new day, it's a new dawn, it's a new life....

and I'm feeling good.

I am a firm believer that life is meant to be enjoyed. Every morning, we get to wake up to another day. we're given a new chance each and every day to better ourselves from the previous day. It's not always easy to face the day ahead. I am just so grateful to my Heavenly Father for blessing me with this life. I am happy, truly happy. Really.
Not only am I happy, but WE are happy.

(Just look at this guy! How can a girl not swoon over a guy that looks at her like he looks at me?)

Brett and I met/had our first date on March 22, 2014. I was living in Logan at the time and one of my good friends (Kyle) had a childhood buddy (Carl) that attended school at BYU-Idaho in Rexburg, Idaho. Kyle went up to visit Carl for the weekend. Brett was Carl's roommate at the time and Kyle thought that we'd make a good match.

It was a Sunday night I ran into Kyle as he was getting home from Idaho. "I was just going to come see you," he said "I met your future husband this weekend." I laughed. Kyle told me that Brett was coming down next weekend to take me on a date. I laughed again and said no. Kyle pressed it a little more and I told him that if this boy called me and asked me out, I might say yes. Kyle asked me to just trust him...three days later I decided to trust Kyle and it was the best decision I had made in my life up to that point.

We had a fun group date and I thought Brett was pretty neat-o! He was a gentleman and sweet. The night came to an end and he did not ask for my number. I was bummed. The next day I was teaching Sunday School and he had told me he'd come to my class. He didn't show up. I thought "great, this boy must think I'm crazy!" Well I hadn't been feeling well and I ended up leaving church early. I had parked on the east side of the parking lot (which I NEVER did) and I walked out of the east doors (which I also NEVER did). There he was. I had no way of avoiding him. My hands started sweating I didn't know what I was going to say. "Just say thanks again for last night, have a nice life. Have a nice life?" What was I thinking? It went much smoother than I had imagined. We talked and he told me had a fun time and asked if he could have my number! I was stunned!

Brett spent the summer in Virginia selling pest control until he broke his foot and went home to California. We spent the summer texting here and there until about July when started talking more and more. When Brett came back to Rexburg for the Fall semester he stopped and we went on a date. I really liked him. We continued to talk and get to know one another. We ended up seeing each other every other weekend. I would drive there or he would come to Utah.

Brett asked me to be his girlfriend on October 22 and I've been falling ever since. We were engaged on December 12, 2015. We spent Christmas in Texas where Brett was able to meet my brother and I was able to meet the rest of Brett's family. Our engagement flew by as we continued to only see each other on weekends. Brett was busy in school and I continued to work for IHC in Logan. We were so in love and couldn't imagine our love growing into what it is now. I am excited to see what the future holds for us and the love we are able to share together.
